HMC Movie Club Presents: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

Hannah Maclure Arts Centre (HMC), University of Abertay Dundee are to screen cinema classic 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari' on Monday 16th April as part of their fortnightly Movie Club.

Made in 1920, 'The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari' is one of the most important works of film history. Directed by Robert Wiene from a screenplay by Hans Janowitz and Carl Mayer, the film features beautiful sets and dancer-like performances by the cast, as we witness the tale of the mysterious Dr. Caligari and his somnambulist Cesare.

This is a great opportunity to see one of the most influential films of German Expressionism and also one of the greatest horror movies of the silent era. The Movie Club screening will be followed by critique, discussions and review.
