Channel Fife TV is producing five short films for 'See Me', Scotland's national campaign to end the stigma and discrimination of mental ill-health. 'Harbour Steps', which took it's name from the steps at Kirkcaldy Harbour which inspired the John Buchan novel 'The 39 Steps', is a unique project involving people who have experience of mental ill health and aims to help to remove the stigma of mental illness.

Through a series of script creation workshops, five real stories have been turned into screenplays, each one dealing with a real experience and aspect of mental ill health. Most of the participants of the workshops have acted in the films or been involved in the production process, though in some cases because of the sensitive nature of the stories, professional actors were used.

The project has been well received in the press and following a launch at the Regent Cinema in Leven, has plans to be screened at the Scottish Parliament.
