uScreen need your vote!

uScreen has won a place in the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards 2012 and is calling on your support before public voting opens closes on Sunday 21st July. uScreen is a cutting edge fully accessible website which aims to provide young deaf and disabled (alongside non-disabled young people) aged 14-25 years the opportunities to share, learn and collaborate on film-making.
The project is part of Accentuate, a transformational programme of 15 projects which seeks to change perceptions and offer opportunities to showcase the talents of deaf and disabled people. Inspired by our proud heritage of Stoke Mandeville as the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, and funded by Legacy Trust UK, SEEDA, North Sea Screen Partners and the regional cultural agencies. The Accentuate programme is being managed by TayScreen's fellow NSSP member Screen South, the regional screen agency for the South East. Accentuate has 1000 days to create a cultural legacy.
The National Lottery Awards are an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery-funded projects. Lottery players raise £30 million each week for projects all across the UK.
The Awards are a great way to highlight how that funding has changed the UK for the better. Now in their ninth year, the Awards recognise the incredible difference that Lottery-funded projects have made to people, places and communities all across the UK. They also celebrate the talent, hard work and amazing dedication of the people involved in running them.
