Submissions now open for The Golden Poo Awards Short Film Competition - A Call for Infectious Films
The Golden Poo Awards 2012 is being organised by PooP Creative Ltd in association with the London Short Film Festival (LSFF) to promote awareness about sanitation and hygiene issues in developing countries and the UK. Due to poor hygine, lack of sanitation, and consequently contaminated water, 4,000 children die every day. The challenge is to make a short film that disgusts, shames, inspires and motivates people all over the world to join in the campaigns for better hygiene and sanitation in the lead up to Glabal Handwashing Dat and World Toilet Day 2012.
Your film should be catchy, emotive, funny, sensational or 'infectious' enough to go viral and deliver these key messages to hundreds of thousands of people. Films should capture the imagination of key players and decision-makers, so that it will be used as part of the global campaigns and will influence individuals and people in power to make the issues of sanitation and hygiene a priority.
Films can be hard hitting, edgy, direct, surreal, oblique, tender, poetic, profound, thought provoking, comic, irreverent, prophetic, cosmic, mythological, abstract, factual, spoof, public information. They must deliver a powerful message about sanitation and/or hygiene issuesl be between 30 seconds to 3 minutes in total running time, including titles and credits; be your original material; be in English or with English subtitles; motivate individuals to disseminate the film through email, blogs and social networks; and inspire government, enterprises and communitues to invest in and improve sanitation facilities and hygiene education.
All entries must be submitted by no later than midnight on Tuesday 31st July 2012.
