BAFTA and Rocliffe are inviting comedians, sketch performers and comedy writers to enter their comedy sitcoms or sketches for the Comedy Writing Initiative. In this special version of the scheme, they are teaming up with BAFTA New York, the New York Television Festival and british Airways, to take three new writers to the New York Television Festival (NYTVF). The Festival runs from october 22-27, and provides the opportunity to showcase work in front of US TV industry professionals from companies such as Comedy Central, FOX, FX, MTV and IFC.
As long as you haven't had a TV series commissioned - although you may have broadcasting credits - you are invited to submit a ten minute extract from your sitcom or sketch show. The closing date for submissions is Friday 27th July 2012. For full information on the event, please go to http://www.bafta.org/about/supporting-talent/rocliffe/.
