Touch of Tassie

Date: (30/11/2015)

Sky Arts headed to Fife earlier this year to film with artist Nerine Tassie.  They wanted to show off the places that are her daily inspiration.  Those places include the incredible landscapes and coasts of Fife on Scotland's North Sea coast.

Nerine is also Nerine McIntyre, principal teacher of art at Dunfermline High School.

She is now also the first ever winner of TV channel Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year.

The prize was a commission worth £10,000 and the resulting painting will go into the permanent collection of the National Trust that looks after many historic properties in England.

Up against some 10,000 original entrants to the competition, Nerine had to take part in televised rounds painting different landscapes and locations.

You can see Nerine Tassie's amazing work at her website.  There's a time lapse showing her painting for Sky Arts here.
