"Grow" is a Sky Original film, produced by Sky Studios in association with Double Nickel Entertainment, Orogen Entertainment, and Blazing Griffin. The film stars Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton) and Nick Frost (Paul) and premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in August and on Sky Cinema in October. It’s a family-friendly story about a young girl who helps her farmer aunt grow a giant pumpkin for a competition.

Playing a starring role is the historic village of Culross (pron. Cure-iss – we Scots have to have our own pronunications!). With its cobbled streets, ochre cottages, and historic charm, Culross has become one of Scotland’s most sought-after filming locations. The picturesque Fife village, best known as the fictional Cranesmuir in Outlander, has provided a timeless backdrop for countless productions—from period dramas to modern comedies like Grow. Its well-preserved 17th-century architecture and coastal setting make it a natural choice for filmmakers seeking authentic Scottish atmosphere, drawing both international crews and visitors eager to see a living film set come to life.

The story follows a no-nonsense farmer Dinah Little and her estranged niece Charlie who enter a local giant-pumpkin-growing contest. The film features a mix of humour and magic.  Dinah is a no nonsense, curmudgeonly farmer who is kind at heart who begrudgingly takes in Charlie after discovering her in an orphanage.

Dinah's farm is in the self-proclaimed 'Pumpkin Capital of the World' where the biggest event of the year is a high-stakes cutthroat giant-pumpkin-growing contest where the entire town gets their pumpkin patches ready to compete for a cash prize and pumpkin glory. Charlie has a special bond with plants and combined with her feisty personality and determination, decides to grow a gigantic pumpkin for the competition, to attempt to win the coveted prize.
